My name is Mikkel Ancher.

I was born and raised in the Danish city Dragør, not far from the capital Copenhagen.
I grew up in a creative family, with both my mum and dad panting. Also they both worked with kids.

When i was a child i lived with my mother from i was 1 year old, and my father lived close by in the same city.
We lived in a small terraced house with a small garden. I was making small canals and springwater there, it was so fun.

I traveled the world with my mother, and the favorite place was Italy, Amalfi coast. Where we lived up in the mountains "with our Italien family" They had an amazing hotel with view over the sea.

Italy was like my 2nd home in my youth. Often my mother and I was staying there for many month, taking me out of school.

Sailing in Holland on houseboats for long periods, or traveling to all kind of Islands in Greece. Island, USA etc. 

I was playing football with the local kids or playing in the mountains, while my mother was painting. Or she was teacing me to paint. 

When i was a teenager i lost interest in art. I was more into building modelships and other boystuff. I was wall climbing alot. Playing football and row kajak. 

In 1999 i joined the Voultenteer Marine in Denmark, and been passive and active in periods since then.
Sailing from Dragør and other places.

When i got older and moved from home, i started to paint art on canvas. But mostly as a hobby. 

Later in life, i had a period with no job, so i was going to Kofoed skole 4 times a week to paint and made ceramics. 

I got my own gallery nearby aswell. But it was in the middle of 2007 finance crise so wasnt working out well.

I went back to working other jobs and building stuff for friends and family.

I was also working in the insurance business and internet company. 

In 2010 in got an old motorboat i renovating and was sailing alot in for many years.

In 2015 i also got a sailboat i sailed a lot in.

Dreaming about sailing the world in a big ass sailboat. A dream i still have. 

From 2013 i worked also many years in part of our family garden center. The biggest and bad ass center in all of Denmark! 

In 2016 my father Ove Ancher, that sadly died. Leaving me with 200+ paintings of his, some of them still for sale.

2016 was other the year i met the mother to my 2 children. 

2017 i got my daughter Anna, and 2020 my son Anton.

2021 was the year of disaster. The family dream got destroyed and i lost contact with my 2 kids for 2 years.
I lost everything. My dog, 2 cats, my sailboat, my motorboat, my dreamhouse with huge garden, 200m2 workshop, forest and fields. 

I was driven into depression, prison and chaos. I put my kids first and started to fight my way out.

In that peroid i was actually painting alot, a way to express my feelings and thoughts. 
In 2022 i remade my website and made my association fighting for kids rights.

I started seeing my kids again in 2023 after crazy fights with the family courtsystem.
A fight that is still ongoing. 

2023 i started my exhibition at a new opened bar. 28 LIVE BAR in Denmark. 
I still have my art there, so feel free to go visit the bar.

2024 I bought and old boat i started to renovate in the harbour of Roskilde.
